America250: Celebrating Our Nation’s 250th Anniversary

On July 4, 2026, the United States will commemorate the 250th anniversary of the approval of the Declaration of Independence — a milestone known as America250. This historic occasion invites all Americans to reflect on our shared past, honor the journey of our diverse communities, and envision the future we aspire to build together.

Though separated by ocean, Hawai‘i stands united with the nation in recognizing this momentous anniversary. Throughout 2025 and 2026, communities across the islands will mark America250 with events that reflect our unique culture, honor our veterans and ancestors, and commemorate the Spirit of Aloha. The Hawai‘i America250 Commission is helping lead these efforts statewide, supporting programs and partnerships that ensure Hawai‘i’s voice is meaningfully included in this national reflection.
