Flying the Flag
America250 Flags in Color/Honor Guards and Up Flagpoles
This is a nationwide program initiated and sponsored by the Hawai‘i America250 Commission.
To symbolize and acknowledge the ongoing commemoration of the 250th anniversary of the Declaration of Independence and the United States, this program encourages ROTC, JROTC, and other Color and Honor Guard units across the country to include the America250 Flag alongside the US flag. An added goal is to have the America250 Flags flying on flagpoles.
The use of the America250 Flag as part of the Color/Honor Guard presentations at ceremonies, sporting events, parades, and other gatherings, as well as flying at government buildings and individual businesses/homes are significant opportunities to expand America250 awareness and messaging.
Most America250 Flags are marketed as single-sided flags - meaning the ‘America250’ on the opposite side of the flag is ‘backwards;’ double-sided correctly shows the America250 design on both sides.
To simplify the purchase of America250 Flags, as well as take advantage of quantity pricing, we worked with Flags Unlimited to make custom double-sided flags (most America250 Flags are marketed as single-sided, meaning the ‘America 250’ on the opposite side of the flag is ‘backwards;’ double-sided correctly shows the design on both sides), beneficial pricing, easy ordering and processing, and a special on-line ordering link.
Ordering is not limited/restricted to State/Territory America250 Commissions; individuals may use this ordering link to purchase these America250 Flags for their own use.
